EDIT: My subscription is running out in a couple of days, and instead of just updating the subscription, I'm thinking I might just move my whole gallery over to
OffbeatWorlds and buy a subscription for that. I'll update this journal when I'm done with the move. I figure I use the alias Sylanya everywhere else, why not use it here. Bit of a shame tho...I nearly had 15 K pageviews, lol. Anyways, if you aren't already watching my Sylanya account and you want to keep watching me, you should probably add
OffbeatWorlds.
Well...school's out now, been out for nearly a month now. And yet, I'm still busy. I'm back working at Kohls 3-5 times a week, and the days I have off are now spent at Caribou Coffee working on the screenplay. Last week I finally finished the first draft. Today I finished the second draft.
A let me tell you, rewriting that draft was no easy task. I have to take breaks and watch
montyoum's Dead Fantasy movies just to keep myself going. The vanilla coolers really help too.
Anyways, I'm also working on some costume designs for the characters, and having fun with that. I'm sort of going for a different style of costume, not the usualy medieval tunics and breeches. Getting a little more creative than that, but they'll still, hopefully, look authentic.
I mean, that's one thing I don't get about a lot of fantasy movies. Most of them take place in different worlds - why are all the costumes regular, medieval, Ye Olde Towne style? I know they tried to do something different for Eragon, but...well, they failed. Mostly because the style was still Ye Olde Town, but the material was pleather and wind breaker fabric...with some bells for the fortune teller for good measure.
I might post a couple sketches letter to show you the style I'm talking about. Not sure if they'll be here or on my
OffbeatWorlds gallery, but they'll be somewhere.
Anyways, just thought I'd post an update, let you all know that I managed to survive finals, even with the cold.
Toodles.
I'm working on the screenplay of the first movie of the Orbs of Laenel series.
